Once again, the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (AAHS) attended The Latino Coalition Summit in Washington DC to award excellence in the Latino community.
This years summit highlighted healthcare reform and also was host to a guest appearance by Maria Contreras-Sweet the newly sworn in Administrator of the Small Business Administration.
Hector Barreto, Chairman of the Latino Coalition and a Board Member of The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences made a wonderful introduction of The Academy and then introduced myself and The President of The Academy Joseph Cinque to speak about the significance of The Star Diamond Award.
Joseph Cinque then personally presented a Star Diamond Lifetime Achievement Award to Lic. Antonio Leaño Reyes, Chancellor of Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara as recognition for his leadership and significant contribution to the Latino Community. A Star Diamond Lifetime Crystal Award was also bestowed to Ing. Arturo Peña Del Mazo, ‘Tio Papa,’ Presidente de La Fundación Cultural Isidro Fabela, A.C. for his leadership and significant contributions to the Latino Community.
To celebrate the bestowing of the Awards, The Academy hosted a dinner at Five Star Diamond Award winning restaurant Cafe Milano in Georgetown.
The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences has been awarding Cafe Milano for the past 12 years with a Five Star Diamond Award and they just keep getting better and better every year.
